Position Profile
Job Description:
The Finance Lead is accountable for performing basic general accounting activities to ensure company financial reporting is accurate and in compliance with accounting standards. The individual in this role will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting activities on the Site Finance Reporting Analysis team. The Finance Lead participates in the monthly closing process; prepares general ledger account reconciliations; assists senior leaders on the finance team during the year-end corporate audit; and assists with the annual planning process and other analytical projects.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
- Complete account reconciliations on a monthly basis providing explanation and resolution for variances
- Perform daily cash reconciliations and monthly work-in-process and fixed asset reconciliations
- Perform other activities specific to month-end close process, including variance analysis, research of differences, and compilation and preparation of monthly financial report data package
- Assist with the year-end corporate audit as well as the annual planning cycle
- Ensure all accounting is complete in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Review/resolve Expense Payable (EP) duplicate payment report, duplicate vendor report and debit balance reporting/collection
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Accounting and CPA track strongly preferred)
- 2+ years experience in Accounting or Finance
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to collaborate and build positive relationships with other departments to effectively make recommendations
- Must have excellent Excel skills with the ability to manipulate large amounts of data
- Time management skills are a must
- Knowledge of, and ability to apply, U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proactive, problem-solving orientation – seeking a self-starter
